Dear cousins and friends from Texas,
I am sending you these brochures, which you know about and I'm writing to say we are still alive. The brochure "history of the twinning" is in French and it will be translated by Amelie-Rose Finger (one of Paul's daughters) for the 40th twinning anniversary done by the Oberentzen and Niederentzen commitee. The history about "Alsace, Niederentzen and Oberentzen" is in English for some information.
I am transmitting these brochures via Laurence Deyber an English teacher in Ensisheim middle school, she is Francois and Jacqueline's daughter, who are very famous in Castroville and in Texas. Laurence will be in Texas for a few days and will come back with her students in 2019
It will be a great pleasure for us to welcome you for the 40 years of this twinning. You will all be welcome, please, let every know about it.
Thanks to Laurence for taking these brochures to you.
Best wishes and lots of love,
(Thank you to Rick Rothe for passing this on to us he goes on to say -
"I am not sure of the exact date of the 40th anniversary of the twinning of D’Hanis and Niederentzen / Oberentzen. July 14, 1978 was the official ceremony in Alsace I think.")
(as soon as the brochures get to me I will get it posted here)
(In the meantime if you are planning a trip to Alsace this summer they would love to see you.)
